Program Young Ambassadors Morocco
Delegation des Jeunes Marocains au Palais des Nations Unies de New York
Delegation des Jeunes Marocains avec S.E. Amb. Omar Hilale, Representant Permanent du Royaume aux Nations Unies
Young Ambassadors Morocco Program is a social project aimed at training and enhancing the skills of Moroccans aged 15 to 28. The selected national youth delegation will embark on an excellence training journey, led by prominent figures from the political, economic, social, and diplomatic sectors in Morocco and abroad. The program consists of two modules: the first part includes sessions, seminars, conferences, and debates in Morocco, and the second part involves a workshop in New York and other major cities.
This course lasts 4 months (180 hours) and is fully compatible with school/university schedules. The objective is for participants to acquire skills in public speaking, teamwork, interaction with other working groups, stress management, problem-solving, applying theoretical knowledge, personal research, and development, as well as organizing informal-interpersonal relationships that operate both internationally and in various contexts (diplomatic, legal, economic, academic).
In line with the Royal High Instructions following the speech to the Nation on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the King and People's Revolution, and in accordance with the provisions of the National Charter of Education and Training, aimed at the widespread introduction of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in all public schools, this activity is part of the GENIE program for the generalization of ICT in education (National Charter of Education and Training, Lever 10).
Indeed, the "Young Ambassadors to the United Nations" program uses a teaching method based on learning-by-doing, cooperative learning, and role-playing. This allows for a balance between the academic or theoretical dimension and practical application, in line with Levier 3 of the National Charter of Education and Training, which focuses on adapting the education and training system to its socio-economic environment.
The training course is organized in partnership with the Italian Diplomatic Academy and the World Council for Youth and Diplomacy in New York.
WORKSHOP IN NEW YORK
Once preparation in Morocco is complete, participants will travel to Manhattan, at the heart of New York (or to any other chosen city), to participate in a workshop and experience firsthand the challenges of international politics, economics, and diplomacy. This intense week will be filled with conferences, meetings, debates, cultural visits, and much more, making this a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Through this program, participants will gain a 360-degree view of the international scene and will be able to apply their skills confidently in the professional world (i.e., soft skills).
Upon completion of the training, participants will have achieved:
-
An understanding of international current events, inter-state relations, global tensions, and peaceful conflict resolution methods.
-
The ability to participate and contribute to debates.
-
The ability to write and present in English.
-
An orientation towards the professional world.
For IDA-Maroc, it is essential to contribute to building a competent and efficient society. It is committed to training a new generation of experts in the field, eager to enrich their cultural and professional backgrounds through high-quality academic exchange programs. This training program also aims to pass on newly acquired knowledge to friends and family, thus providing added value to the country’s economy and social fabric. Participants will be informed about new approaches to addressing current international tensions and how to manage inter-state relations through studying, analyzing, and practicing the tools of modern diplomacy and international careers through an interdisciplinary methodology. This approach allows young people to combine the theoretical concepts learned during their academic studies with practical experiences. They will interact with national and international institutions, solidifying and enhancing their skills by engaging with real-world challenges.
The experience plays a crucial role in helping participants identify professional opportunities that go beyond traditional diplomatic or political careers. The United Nations, for instance, hires professionals from a wide range of specialties and operational fields. Therefore, the program acts as a catalyst for informed and mature choices regarding university and career paths.
In this context, IDA-Morocco also offers an "International Careers Office" to support young people in their academic journey and guide them into the workforce. This office aims to provide advice and communicate possible opportunities in this field. It leverages the Academy’s institutional network to facilitate access to internships and professional opportunities.
